The jig and eel and spinner baits are excellent night fishing lures on most lakes during the spring and the fall months. Other night fishing baits that work well are live crawfish and waterdogs (larva salamanders) Also if you fish a large bass minnow you will get some good results too. During the summer months the best night fishing for bass plastics will be a plastic worm or a spinnerbait, both will take a lot of fish. All of these night fishing baits you want to fish bouncing off the bottom The reason is most of the big bass and smaller ones too will searching the bottoms looking for crayfish and salamanders. If you want some real action while your fishing for bass at night try a surface plug. Watching hearing that water explode is simply awesome!

Lakes that do not stratify bass will move into the shallows 3 to 5 foot looking for a meal. If your lake does stratify The bass will be located deeper. Crustations such as crayfish are very active at night and an easy meal for feeding bass and other gamefish. You donot need to track down the crayfish and bait fish because there are ways to get them to come to you. A good place to set up for the night is on the windward side where the water is stained and colored. This will be the area you have the best luck. Or if you find mud or gravel banks with deep water near by this is also an excellent night fishing for bass spot.

One you have droped your anchor drop your underwater fishing light gently into the water and make sure you anchor it properly to the bottom. Leave it set for at least ½ hour. You will be amazed at how many crayfish, and bait fishing we be attracted to your submerged lighting source because of the zooplankton it will draw.

I strongly suggest you do your home work on the the lake you intend to go night fishing for bass on. It is very important that indentify important landmarks before you go out on the lake. You need to preplan the different locations you intend to try while it is still light out. You always have to be thing about safety when you go night fishing. Always have your running lights on minimum when you are anchored. It is important that you have reliable night fishing equipment like a quality floating night fishing light and a good underwater fishing light.

Also you should understand some basics of the different moon phases because they play key part if you are going to go night fishing for bass or any other gamefish. On nights when there is a full moon the moon will rise exactly at sun set and will stay visible throughout the day and through the night. I have always had my best luck during a full moon. Every day after the full moon the moon will rise later until you see almost no moon at all in the new moon phase.

I want to thank you for reading my article about night fishing for bass. Have a great day and the the best of luck to you on your next fishing trip

Fall is my favorite time of year. No not because of the cooler weather and the falling leaves, but because it is now football season.

The NFL season is awesome because after two weeks of virtually nothing on television as far as sports, suddenly you are engulfed with plenty of games every Saturday and Sunday. Sure I can take in a baseball game in person, but sitting and watching it on TV puts a man to sleep. At least the 2008 Olympics provided some sports activity this year.

I love both the college and the pro games for different reasons. The passion involved in the college game is like nothing else. Every Saturday, hundreds of thousands of rabid supporters fill up local stadiums in an effort to push the home team to victory. With the expansion of network television contracts, there are usually good matchups on every Thursday and Saturday night as well. While I don’t really like the BCS system that is in place in the college ranks, one benefit to the setup is that every regular season matchup really matters. A college team could get away with one loss during the year, but if they want a shot at the BCS championship, then they can’t afford to lose twice.

The National Football League is a different animal, but just as good in my opinion. Again the passion is amazing, especially in the great NFL cities like Dallas, Denver, Chicago, and Miami. What makes the NFL really fun for many fans is the expansion of fantasy football. Sure some people go a little crazy, in that they use every waking moment evaluating their players and proposing ridiculous trades to the other fantasy players in the league. Just get started with the right set of people, then fantasy football makes all of the games much more interesting.

This year I had to evaluate my television service, as Cox continued to let me down me as far at their service and pricing. Luckily for me, I had multiple options, as AT&T’s new uverse service is now in my area, as well as satellite television. After looking into my options, I discovered there are great satellite television deals going on currently. So then it became the old Direct TV vs DISH Network debate Being the football fan that I am, I just couldn’t pass up the DirecTV Sunday Ticket package that they offer. In addition, they offer great college football packages, including the ESPN Game Plan. Overall, there is just more for your money when comparing DirecTV to Comcast. Plus, you just can’t beat the Direct TV DVR.

My spouse may not like that selection, but at least she will know where I will be, right in front of the television this fall!
